Hello There!

Hey there. Its been a while. Too long in fact. My last blog post was on the 16th July, and oh boy have a lot of things happened since then. So much in fact I cannot possibly pack it all into one blog.

Instead I'm going to give a little summary of everything that has happened since July and hopefully be more frequent with posts from here out.

First off, on the 24th July I took my then girlfriend up Slieve Gallion and proposed...
She said 'Yes'! HOORAY!!

Here's the only photo I could find of said fiancee and said ring

Needless to say I am over the moon and cannot wait to start my life with Laura. Thanks also to everyone for their kindness and gifts. You know who you are.

Fast forward a few months and we have picked a date and a venue for the reception. The magic will happen on the 12/04/2013 in the Ballydugan Mill. Very exciting.

Then in November Laura and I purchased a lovely 3 bedroom house in Donaghcloney. This week I moved in to the house and it is my job to get the house ship-shape for my bride to be in April 2013. So far I have had a great time decorating and apart from a minor leak, it has been great making a home.

Here's a picture of home sweet home. Next time I might let you go...through the keyhole.

Until next time!

12th July 2011

Whats Up Bloggers?

Hope your all enjoying your 12th of July holidays. I'm sure most if not all of you are enjoying today and tomorrow off, however I am having to work. Although I can't really complain. I was worried that today would escalate into all out war...however I have been pleasantly surprised. Tonight my prayers will be for continued common sense to prevail, and for the safety of the police and public.

So last Tuesday I decided to change over my bank accounts from the RBS Ulsterbank to the Halifax. What a stressful process that was. Guarantees were made that a dedicated switch over team would change over my Direct Debits and my salary to my new account. However I'm not one to sit on my hands, so proactively rang today to double check this all was done. Two of my direct debits and my salary were not changed over, leaving me pick up the pieces and make three other phone calls to sort it out. At least I was given the £50 incentive for switching over. Now hopefully everything is set up....HOPEFULLY

Now I may be wrong on this next call...but I am predicting the new social networking fad to be Google's aptly titled Google+. Now I do like Google, I use Google Chrome, Google Android and the Goggle owned Blogger and Youtube but I think their new project is a winner. With circles, huddles, hangouts and sparks, Google+ seems to offer something neither Facebook and Twitter does, and whilst my Twitter account will remain alive, I do feel that Facebook will get replaced by Google+

So what are my plans for the rest of the week? Well Thursday night is going to be magical. I'm seeing the finale of Harry Potter in the Odyssey, as myself, Jonny Davison and other will watch part 1 and 2 of the Deathly Hallows. This will be followed by an entire weekend dedicated to watching the British Open Golf in Sandwich. This will hopefully finish with a victory for the heir apparent and a second major title for Rory McIlroy. The only way to make the weekend better is if Samir Nasri or Wesley Sneijder transfers to Manchester United over the weekend.

Well thats enough for an update now. I hope you all have as productive and enjoyable week as I plan to have. Byeeeeeeeeeee

Summer!

It seems like Summer has finally arrived...two days of great weather...only to find that the weather forecast for the rest of the week is rain....Oh well...It was nice whilst it lasted.
Its been quite a while since my last blog. So long in fact, I last blogged about Rory McIlroy winning the US Open...why oh why am I not a betting man???
World Number One Elect...
Great performance, and it won't be long before he wins more, and becomes World Number 1. On the 11th of April, the night of his capitulation in Augusta I did predict this victory on Facebook! "Feel pretty gutted for Rory McIlroy! But he'll bounce back! Made of tougher
stuff. Fancy him to win a Major in 2011!"

The man from Hollywood set the world golfing stage alight, and did it with a humility and sense of class that was so refreshing to see. In a world full of so-called role models, Rory really does seem to set himself apart and keep his feet truly planted on the ground. Very much looking forward to watching a documentary on him tonight on BBC1 at 9pm.

Me holding the £89k Olympic Torch

As for me, work is going swimmingly...touch wood. We celebrated Wimbledon with champagne and strawberries and cream on Thursday. This was followed by the Olympic Torch today. Was nice to get a look at the golden torch and give it the Gary Brown stamp of approval. I was reliably informed that on the torch there are 8,000 holes (give or take), each one representing an athlete that will participate at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Now if that's not a Quiz question in the next 18 months I'll be very surprised.

So that's really all I have to Blog about at the moment. I have pictures from a family dinner celebrating my brothers first class honours....however I'll leave those for another time.

Until next time....

PS Laura graduates on Thursday, send her your love on Facebook, or tweet her at @lamax08
